| Scientific Background: | Uhrf1 (ubiquitin-like, containing PHD and RING finger domains 1, also known as ICBP90, RNF106 or NP95) is a transcription and cell cycle regulator. It functions as a putative E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Uhrf1 is important for G1/S transition of the cell cycle. It is also believed that Uhrf1 may help recruit the DNA methyltransferase, DNMT1, to hemimethylated DNA and assist in the stabilization of DNMT1 with chromatin. |
