| Description: | Recombinant human CBP Bromodomain, His-Tagged (CREB Binding protein, CREBBP, accession number Q92793, amino acids 1091 to 1190) containing an N-terminal His-tag, expressed in E. coli. CBP is an important regulator of cell function and serves to integrate a number of key cell signaling pathways. CBP contains intrinsic histone acetylatransferase (HAT) activity and serves as a co-activator for a large number of transcription factors. The bromodomain of CBP specifically recognizes a number of acetylated proteins, including histones and transcription factors. The CBP gene is mutated in Rubinestein-Taybi Syndrome, a rare developmental disorder. |
